When I paint, I am searching and exploring through my creative imagination flying through many feelings, thoughts, and emotions allowing my intuition to assist with my choices. I am looking to find that which grounds me and feeds me pure satisfaction. Gestural brushstrokes, mixed media, and intense colors excite me. Oil paint used to be my primary medium but I’ve found that Acrylic paint provides instant gratification and an abundance of choices.
Ever since I was introduced to my first set of crayons I fell in love with color. Expressive Abstract Art is an exhilarating avenue for me because it allows me to utilize all colors in the most imaginative and creative ways. I get a lot of satisfaction from creating things with my own hands. I keep busy painting, sketching, and drawing in my Art Journals most days. Art Journaling is a huge part of my process and success.
I am often asked, where my inspiration comes from. I usually respond by explaining that my inspiration comes from natural surroundings. Inspiration either finds me or I find it because it is all around. Whatever I see, hear, or do there is always something that will ellicit an idea to embark on. Everything has some sort of form, shape, line, color, value, space, and texture. With those key elements, I have the option to create a variety of styles using and experimenting with different products, tools, and techniques. Variety is key for me as an Artist, Designer, and Art Instructor.
I truly enjoy sharing my artwork, my designs, and the knowledge I have acquired over the years with others. Other aspects of Art I enjoy are decorative arts, drawing, photography, collage, scrapbooking, etc. No matter what I do in life Art will always have a place in it. This wonderful journey is taking me to new heights and I am really looking forward to many more exciting ventures in the future.
